What We Do
We offer support in the following areas. Contact us to enquire about any of these.
We travel regularly to offer support and encouragement to missionaries working around the world. We also meet with missionaries while they are home in New Zealand to discuss their needs and how these can best be met.
A debriefing consultation is essential for all missionaries returning on furlough or making the transition back to live permanently in New Zealand. Gaining an understanding of the impact and process of transition from the field to their home country can reduce the amount of trauma and sense of dislocation returning missionaries experience.
These interviews provide an objective view of how candidates are likely to function in the field. This includes their suitability for the position they will fill and possible issues they may face, both personally and in a team.
Life Coaching provides an opportunity for people to define how they are going and
determine the steps they need to put in place to achieve their goals. It’s suitable for people from all walks of life.
Spiritual Direction provides a safe environment for people to talk about their spiritual journey. It offers the freedom to ask difficult questions, explore faith and develop a closer relationship with God. We can offer you Spiritual Direction via e-mail if we’ve already developed a relationship with you after visiting you in the field or while you are home on furlough.
Sometimes issues arise on the field that require you to take time out to deal with them. Charlotte can offer ongoing counselling to people based in Auckland and its environs. She can help you to deal with personal issues, find ways to overcome stress and burnout, and renew emotional wellbeing.
We offer short workshops for church or office settings. Topics covered include:
- Stress and Burnout
- Grief and Loss
- My View of God
- Healthy Relationships
- Conflict Resolution
- Maintaining Spiritual Vitality
- Caring for your Missionary
We can work alongside you and your missionary to ensure that their needs are met, whether in the field or during times of transition.
At one time or another, we all experience the need to respond to Jesus’ invitation to come aside a rest for a while. Retreats offer a quiet time for reflection, spiritual input and development of your relationship with a loving God. Retreats can last for one day or for longer, and they offer the opportunity to be refreshed physically, emotionally and spiritually.
